Hello all. Hoping someone can help me. It looks like my pump is being recognized by the OmniLogic as it shows up with a hua. However when I turn it on it shows priming but it won’t on the pump. I tried the turning it off for 5 minutes or up to 15 minutes per the service bulletin. Nothing. Disconnected the comm cable verified the OmniLogic didn’t see it turned power off and turned it back on. Is there a way to manually turn it on? The cover on the pump with the control screen isn’t connected so the led doesn’t show anything. It’s happened before and the pool guys said my pump was bad but then it magically worked again. Really appreciate the help. I hear it clicking on and off on the panel but the pump seems locked.

Is the pump getting continous power or is it switched through a relay?

Thanks so much. It’s getting power from that top left relay in the last pic. I detached the com line on the pump and reset everything to see if it worked. I can hear the relay click its recognizing the darn pump as a VSP but the pump is locked or something.

Have you turned all power to the pump off? Tripped its breaker? Let it sit for about 5 minutes and re-apply power. VSP are just computers with a motor attached. Sometimes they need to re-boot like computers in the 90s.
If that doesn't restore operation, go into the configuration menu and get it into "stand alone" mode and see if the pump operates. If so, first check that the remote wiring is not broken somewhere along its length. Then, restore "Remote Control" mode.

The pump power should NOT be connected to the LOAD side of the relay.

The problem is the pump won’t turn on at all. OmniLogic recognizes it but it won’t turn on
Yes I tried turning it off and then on again. I go into the config menu but the only thing there is a label that says VSP. I click it and nothing happens. Pump doesn’t turn on
Have you tried with the pump in standalone mode? That's in the pump's onboard menu.
That takes the automation out of the troubleshooting process. Will the pump run on its own?
Does the pump display light up at all?
No the pump display is completely disconnected. I wasn’t sure if there was a reason for that or not. I’ll try connecting it to see if I can get the display to light up. Sounds like that could help from a trouble shooting perspective

Alright got the display connected. It’s Lighting up and says priming for 2:07 but pump isn’t working.

I connected it to the display per the instructions in the tri star VSP service manual. 4,2,3,1. Also changed the dip switches
This is strange I turned off the breaker and the OmniLogic is off but the display on the pool pump is still on. How is that possible?

What is the exact model number of your pump? It should be on the side of the motor or the pump pot.
OmniLogic is powered separately from the pump. You need to trip the pump's circuit breaker.
I’m beginning to think the drive is broken and I need a new pump. Anyone have other advice? I’m here in so cal in Orange County if anyone knows of a good pool service.
