SOS - I am about to lose it

Hi all! My pool guy just decided not to show up and after two weeks my pool turned green. I know, my fault for letting it get to this point, but I just thought my Pool had the capacity to run untouched for a couple weeks. After watching dozens of YouTube tutorials, we noticed that the salt cell is not working properly nor produxing chlorine. I keep getting a RED FLOW status that comes and goes. It looks like it only turns red when the pump is off. If the pump is on the green CELL light flashes.

We cleaned the pump basket and filter ourselves for the 1st time thinking that would resolve the issue. Anywho, my husband shocked the pool and we noticed the filter pressure is at 31 even higher than when we cleaned it. Could there be an obstruction somewhere else ?? What else am I missing ??

Algae is clogging your filter. Clogged filter is causing the filter pressure rise.

You need to get a test kit to allow you to properly test. Link-->Test Kits Compared

When you have your test kit, you should follow this process to rid your pool of algae. Link-->SLAM Process

In addition to the above download PoolMath

Add 5ppm of liquid chlorine to your pool daily while waiting for your test kit.

Find a source for 10%-12% liquid chlorine as you will need quite a few gallons during the
SLAM Process

They’ve got you covered with the advice above.
Please understand that even if your cell is functioning properly it cannot overcome an algae problem so you must deal with the algae first by doing the
SLAM Process to completion.
Then you can troubleshoot your swcg further.
When your kit comes you can post all the results here like this

Backwash and cleaning filter will NOT get rid of the algae in the pool.

Until you kill the algae, you will be in a battle with your filter. It will clog, you will clean, it will clog.

Re-read my post #2 and Allen's post #3. You need to have a test kit and follow the SLAM process to kill the algae. When you kill the algae, using the SLAM process, your filter will stop clogging.
