IG Vinyl Build: It's Happening!

Anyone know if the lead times from Royal or Pool Warehouse are legitimate? They say 2-4 weeks on their sites. Just wondering, because if getting the kit from my PB doesn't work out, and I just go straight refund of deposit, I need to find a kit elsewhere. I've got a PB who I trust who can work with me to get this done the first two weeks of October. I'm talking to him this afternoon to get an idea of what he would be doing vs what I would be doing to see if this is feasible. This route gets my pool done this year and a hopefully enjoyable 2023.

The other route is to get refund, spend all winter planning and OB in 2023 but not sure what timeframe I'd be looking at. Also, going to talk to the new potential PB this afternoon about this scenario.

Option 3 it is: Just got commitment from the only PB I'd have do it, and he's ready to go for first week of October. This PB is the guy who taught the PB I should've picked in 2020 how to do things. Now, I just need the awful snake PB to come through and help me get the kit from SPP. If he doesn't, he's got a lawsuit and Fox8 expose coming his way;)

* don't forget about the 'making an entrance' option.

I know it was a long weekend and all, but this is probably the best I've felt over a weekend since October 2020! And I still have to actually procure all the pool materials from this weasel! Hopefully can get that done this week and get this PB out of my life!

They were for us in the spring with Royal so i'd believe 2-4 weeks. At the time PW was saying much longer, like 16 weeks.

2/17/2022Received tracking number for Autocover shipment
2/25/2022received tracking on steel steps, plumbing and most equipment

Thanks for the info on Royal! Just wanted to check in case this PB doesn't come through on the kit/materials and I've got to quickly procure everything.

As for the 6 pages, I have no clue! He never sent it and I didn't ask but I'm sure it was loaded with a bunch of b/s that I don't care about. I just want my materials so I can build my pool...without you Mr. Crappy PB!

I think it's going to happen in the next few weeks. Working with the city to get the already approved permit switched over from the contractor to me as an OB (they're giving me a hard time about trying to build a pool myself, because I can't list all of my subs down because most are doing it on the side or are retired and helping as friends). Supplier is supposed to deliver the pool kit end of this week (still not 100% sold it will be because I just don't trust the snake of PB even though it's coming from the supplier). Should know a lot more by the end of this week, and then hopefully things stay warm and dry enough to get this done in October.

Question: My F-I-L is retired certified electrician who will be doing electrical. He hasn't had a chance to look at everything for me yet, but anyone on here able to tell me my electrical needs (amps, voltage, etc.) for my equipment set up (all Pentair): IntelliFlo, UltraTemp 140 Heat Pump, IC60, 2 IntelliBrites, and IntelliConnect?

Under Electrical Supply - Voltage Requirements in the Installation and User's Guide for the UltraTemp 140 it's showing a 50 amp breaker.

I'm not sure if this was covered already but you may qualify for the 3 year warranty from Pentair, see the Warranty Information webpage.

Note: Qualified Installer - Defined as a licensed professional who charges a fee for his services, and possesses a business license, contractor's license and/or resale permit. Common examples of a "qualified installer" include: Swimming Pool, Home Repair or Landscape Professional; Plumber or Electrician; General Contractor; Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist.

Note: Bundled products - must be purchased on the same invoice and installed at the same time. If any product within a bundle is ineligible for the bundled warranty coverage then all products within the same bundle will be disqualified from receiving the three (3) year extended warranty coverage for bundled products.

It's like one step forward, 2 steps back, 2 steps forward, 4 steps back...or something like that. Got my permits! Dig planned to start Sunday! Well, maybe, can't get concrete for collar until October 12th apparently. Went to confirm kit delivery tomorrow, and snake PB is like I'm finalizing the details with supplier I'll let you know. I'm like, the details have been finalized for 2 years! We'll see. It's gonna happen, but thank goodness the Guardians are in the playoffs should this go of the rails!

Holy :poop: what a hard, long ride you have been on! I have seen some messed up builds but this NON build takes the cake!! Here is home Florida ☀️ to send your way as well as this:

Thanks, I need that sunshine...it won't stop raining here, but I know what all you folks in Florida are dealing with right now, prayers for all Floridians.

Oh yeah, I know, pics are huge, but I don't have one of this (will start posting pics like crazy soon hopefully)...on way to church tonight, largest, brightest double rainbow we ever have seen! 🌈 I like to believe God is big enough to watch over those in Ian's path, Ukraine, , and all the other issues around the world while I'm trying to get this 2 year pool debacle over with ;)

I reached out to Margaret at Marina but haven't heard back yet, so thought I'd throw out here as well... What Robot? It's a 20x40x32 True L vinyl liner pool with 16' liner covered steps and 8'6" deep. I don't expect the pool to be that dirty because there aren't a lot of trees around. It seems like robots don't come with a long enough chord. Any thoughts?

Also, who are the electrical experts on here? My F-I-L is certified electrician, so he can handle everything. He's just never done a pool before. I have to do a breaker panel replacement because I'm out of circuits/breakers. I'm an all electric househould and adding the IntelliFlo, IC60, UltraTemp 140 and IntelliConnect.

There are robots with long enough cords. Something like the Polaris 9550 has a 70 foot cord. You want to ensure your build includes an outlet in the middle of the long side of your pool and relatively close to the pool. (Code in Maryland is at least six feet from pool.) Most robots won't do steps or shallower sunshelfs regardless of cord length.
