So this happened

They'll foul some things up that day too.

I'm good with where I'm at. The inspector will get his pics and I can easily fix the rest. I mean. It's mind numbingly frustrating, but the headaches keep reducing in size so the end is near.

Until the patio comes and its Purple Minion colored.

You know, I see some of these build threads like yours, and it makes me glad that our builder was completely wrong about our setback requirements and was never able to make it past the permitting phase.

OMG I can't even !!!!! 2 sides of the pool the bond wire got BURIED and is good and sunk.
They also ran the bond wire backwards.

It should go clockwise, but it is going counterclockwise.

Don't worry, most inspectors will never notice.

I should probably tell you that I am just joking so that you don't go ripping it all out or call the people and yell at them.

@JamesW is there such a thing as too much bonding ?

My overnight thoughts were that I already see a cut end and a loop where they removed the pool loop from the bonding grid. If I dig down further and find 2 loops and 3 cut ends, do I care which ones are the now abandoned loop and which ones are the grid ? Can I reconnect the bundle and ensure I got the right ones ?

Took a break from pool stuffs yesterday and today and revived the patio table I built. I had a hard time finding anything I liked at the old place and when I did find something it was $3k and I got huffy that I could do better for $200. It might not be better but it WAS $200 in materials, and will last for years and years.

First step after cleaning was to make a mess with dark walnut stain. Got the seams and the grains real good and gave it a day to dry

Today I had some fun with the sander

Then onto natural/clear stain and it comes alive

is that pine? It’s taking a stain very well.
I forget what the top was 5 years later. I want to say I used cedar but I may have gone treated at the last minute. It's good and weathered now so I can no longer tell.

The base was definitely Douglas fir to cut down on weight because after loading the cart with deck boards I knew it would be HEAVY.

Have you considered using a urethane sealer?
I did the first year (after the top was good and dried out) and it couldn't handle the blazing sun. It bubbled and peeled in no time. It took a half day of sanding to get it all and I've been staining it since. Today's sanding was a half hour and much easier. If I hadn't stained it yesterday for more pizazz, it probably would have taken 5 minutes to sand today.

Cedar is sometimes hard to find around where I live. I’m not sure why. When I made my bar top I had to settle for pressure treated because cedar was nowhere to be found. I see my Home Depot now has over 100 pieces of 3/4x4x8 in stock though… go figure! Lol

A really good outdoor UV resistant Polyurethane applied thick would probably hold up.

Maybe get a waterproof tablecloth to keep the table covered when you are not using it to protect it from the sun and rain.

I used this on both my coffee table and inside stairs and they both took ABUSE for a decade like a champ, both still looking like day 1. I trusted it would work great outdoors too because of it, like it claimed. Urethane. But it didn't like outdoors with a horizontal surface catching the rays.

It was miserable to sand off as it gummed up the sandpaper in seconds. #neveragain.
