So this happened

I stopped in to PBs to figure out chemicals. They were out of CYA and wouldn't have it for a week or two. My contract only covered $100 in chemicals anyway and 0-70 of CYA is about 20 lbs for me and that's over the allowance by itself. I did order 24 bags of salt that's coming Friday. So off I went to buy CYA and bleach.

OMG I can't even. I'm getting a SWG. We went to HD who had the CYA but not the bleach. I checked Lowes from HD and they had 14 so off we went. They were on the top shelf and it took the kid 20 min to get them down. Date code 22053. Nah, not for $6 each. Off to Walmart we went and they had 22166 (woohoo week old). But we wasted an hour and a half and got soaked walking into all 3 places.

My bleach buying was MUCH easier as the ACE up the road has their own tank and everyone there is so nice. Back the truck up and someone is already walking out to start filling the 4 jugs before I even go in to buy as they know the truck. The funny time was when it was my husband doing the picking up LOL The worker did a full stop You are not Ms. Kim! LOL Nope I am Mr Kim LOL They have gotten to know him now as well so it is all good! 20 gals lasted us about 2 weeks during the hot times.

Does the bench area fit as good as it looks like it does?

You did it!! You REALLY DO HAVE A POOL!

lol I ordered everything online.

25 bags of salt from Home Depot. Cost $79 to deliver but honestly, worth it for me.

Chlorine from Walmart. Tried to do pickup but they were out so they delivered for free. Got lucky with the dates, made the end of May I think. Really thought it would have been used by now but here we are....

I went with liquid CYA for the startup. Couldn't handle the idea of doing 24lbs through the sock method. Leslie's shipped for free.

You know what brand salt you are getting?
Fancy pool store stuff. They are dropping it in the driveway so it's not going in the pool without being checked. Thanks for the reminder in case I forgot. (y)

I might still between now and Friday. Lalalalalalalala

I get this salt for $12/bag from my local pool store when I need a bag or two. Not worth my time to go searching for lower cost salt for a few bags.

It's going well for a little over 3 hours. We always have better pressure from the late evening to early morning so I should pick up steam later.

Those are about the same hours where you could sneak a hose to the neighbor's outlet. Then it would really pick up steam.

It was all over the place price wise between HD/Lowes/Walmart today. $6-$10.

I went with PB because it may be free. If I had purchased the SWG through him, salt would be included as part of his exorbitant mark up. I did pay him a pretty penny in installation fees without the equipment itself on the contract, so he may cover the salt or may not.

If he doesn't I won't lose sleep over it. I'd rather give him my money than the big corporations anyway.

Newdude's testing lab to ensure the quality and purity of all chemicals before adding them to the pool.
Heck no !!!! My man Mguzzy taught me everything he knew.

1) lick finger
2).stick in bag
3) taste finger
4) if it tastes rusty, refuse
4A) if it doesn't, put it in the pool.

The Mrs suggested the guy across the street and the one on our side. The hoses would just be too long to make a big dent.
Running a separate hose from another spigot seemed to make a big difference for me. Just don’t try to do laundry, take a shower or run the dishwasher because you will have absolutely no water pressure..

The current 1 inch sprinkler pipe connects to the 1 inch feed from the street, before the house reduces to 3/4 inch. I have drips at my faucets right now. :ROFLMAO:

Normally 2 hoses equals 1.4 (?) The flow but in my case the hose is only going to steal flow from the big pipe and then not be filtered. I wasn't so much worried about my lines being dirty as I was what happened when all the neighbors sprinklers go on/off. The PSI fluctuates a good deal in the summer and I didn't want any pipe sediment from the street turning me brown mid fill.

So far the polyfill hasn't caught anything. It was a $9 insurance policy and I'm just as happy if it didn't need to do anything.

That musta been pricey. I needed 6 gals and it was $35+ each.

My pool store / PB explained to me today that they stopped selling it as it never gave them the results they expected when they used half of the gallon. Bless their hearts.

They also said I'd be fine with no CYA for 2 weeks. Um. Yeah. No.

Almost have a deep end full. By eyeball guessing I'd say 1/3 in a little over 6 hours. The light colored streak is the top of the slope, 28 ft wide towards the right of the pic.

Ok that makes sense…. Though I have never seen a sprinkler system plumed in before the house plumbing..

1.4… I don’t think it’s that simple I mean if the hoses are different diameters and length….
