AquaLink RS, Pool Service Can't Figure it Out

Hi All,

Just recently moved into a house with an AquaLink RS system. The guy we have maintaining it cannot figure out the scheduling. I asked him to turn all auto-heating off, and he actually tripled it resulting in a horrible gas bill.

I need to be able to check, and modify the schedule myself, which means (I think) needing to buy the cable to connect to it, and obtaining the software.

Does anyone know where I can go to get this?

Show us a picture of your outside cabinet (door open), any antenna that may be mounted close to the outside cabinet and also any remote or inside panel you may use to set controls.
You can only change schedules from a remote, an inside panel or a computer (if you have that web link).
 
Is the system internet enabled? There is a phone app if so and you can also access via a web browser. Did the previous owner give you any instruction on it?

No instructions were left, but I was told by my pool guy I cannot switch modes using the remote panel, so if I want to enable the heat I have to put it into timeout mode and hit the appropriate buttons inside the cabinet. Was told I could add the ability to do this, or get an app, but the previous owner didn't want either of these options.

You have your HEATER controls on the lower right of the indoor control panel. Whatever button you press in the outdoor cabinet you have on the indoor control panel.

I am not sure what you are trying to do but see page 38 in https://www.jandy.com/-/media/zodiac/global/downloads/0748-91071/6594.pdf?force=1

On your Indoor control panel, To see what schedules are set for a device press MENU -> REVIEW then ENTER -> PROGRAMS then ENTER and then the HEAT button or other device button.

To delete a schedule press CANCEL - PROGRAMS then ENTER then press the device button you want to delete.
 
Thanks for the reply. Hitting the Spa heat button on the remote unit doesn't heat the pool. Remote panel shows "Spa Heat Enabled", but the Heather light does not illuminate in the cabinet. Our guy told us the previous owner didn't want the ability to heat the pool from the remote panel. Said if I wanted to do that I'd have to buy a piece of hardware, seemed odd to me.

Reviewing the pool & spa heater schedule shows no schedule, but I know there is something set for 9AM every day. Could the cabinet have a schedule, but the remote can't access it? Cleaner cycle runs every day from 1PM-4PM.

Seems there's a disconnect between the remote & the cabinet in more ways than one. Any idea what's going on here?

I should add that I'm just trying to prevent the heater from turning on everyday at 9AM.

The heater will only turn on with SPA HEAT button on when the SPA is on.

You have the POOL and SPA buttons in the upper left. They correspond to the HEATER POOL and SPA button in the lower right. HEATER POOL determines if the heater runs in POOL mode. HEATER SPA determines if the heater runs in SPA mode.

You should ask him what this mysterious piece of hardware is? What is the model number?

Since you do not have a signature with your equipment I don't know what heater you have.

Please create your signature with details of your pool and equipment.

Show me pic of the inside of your Aqualink cabinet showing the wiring.

When the heater comes on at 9AM do any of the HEATER LED lights on the indoor panel come on?

What does the indoor panel scroll through when the heater is on after 9AM?

What LEDs on the indoor panel are on when the cleaner comes on?

This worked. I'm able to heat the spa from the remote.


I was told I needed to put it into Timeout mode, switch to Spa mode, and hit the heat button, all inside the cabinet.

So pressing SPA and then HEATER SPA on your indoor control panel does the same as what you had been doing on the cabinet.

That's an RS4 P&S looks like Rev T which is fairly current. Do you have a WiFi antenna anywhere? If not, you could get one for a couple hundred and have your system online. You could access it via a web browser, phone app and Alexa. I believe all you need is the antenna.

what scrolls on the display?
 
When you press …

MENU - RIGHT ARROW- RIGHT ARROW- RIGHT ARROW - ENTER - ENTER you can use the left arrow to lower the pool heat set point. Crank that all the way down and your heater should not turn on.

Let me know if that works.
 
Can you tell me what the dip switch settings are. Or post a pic of the dip switches.
