C-19 Vaccine-I got one

Got my second Moderna shot on Friday, hit me like a truck. I was one of the lucky ones to check every box on the side effect list lol. I suffer from seasonal allergies... like every season. After the first shot I felt like maybe it triggered my allergies a little, the second one definitely did. Within an hour I could feel it in my sinuses. Felt sore later in the day, then tossed and turned all night from body aches. Yesterday (Saturday) I spent the day on the couch, with fever, chills, headache, body aches, fatigue, nausea... pretty much felt like a bad flu. Today (Sunday) I'm pretty much feeling better. Had a stuffed head and sinus headache this morning, took some Tylenol and Sudafed and that seems to have taken care of it.

Yesterday sucked, but at least I know it worked! Also, if Covid feels anything like that, I'm glad my odds of getting are pretty low now.

My wife had fever and chills starting almost 24 hours after the shot, and lasted about 12 hours. Much less severe than me. Everyone else in my family just got a sore arm.

RB - At least she had a reason to feel that way. Some people are just crabby and cranky naturally. Wifey goes for Mod-2 next weekend. Hoping for 0 of the above 2 side effects.

So I have been thinking about all this... They really messed up how this is working... should have been like this, nice and easy..

Once you get your 2nd COVID shot, 10 days later you can take your mask off... anyone who has it.. that would have been an incentive to get the shot...

I am still talking to people walking around not wearing masks and not getting the shot.... cant help stupid...

I don’t think I’m ever going back. By keeping my distance from people in the store and mask wearing, I haven’t had one sniffle in over a year. Or one Roto-virus/Flu/Cold/any sort of Icky feeling whatsoever.

*That* part of these unprecedented times has been AWESOME.

I have to agree, the one thing I had a hard time stopping was touching my face 15,000 times a day... now unless I wash my hands I do not touch my face... that has stopped most everything... My wife works at the local school in the petri dish of every kind of cold/flu/whatever and my son got something upper respiratory cold thing, my wife got it 3 days later and I made it 8 days in the house without getting it, almost made it but got it also... We use to get it all at the same time or within a day of each other so what we are all doing is working but it is not 100%, you can still get stuff in your home...

I was also able to go to my mother's, who has a cat that I'm allergic to, and due to wearing a mask, didn't sneeze or have my chest get tight after a few hours.

When I got my first it was a massive facility and you could tell on the faces of the crowd if they were there for their 1st or 2nd shot. The first timers such as myself were all worried for health reasons and confused at the spectacle of it all. The 2nd timers were all confident knowing which station/checkpoint to go to next knowing that they were almost out of the woods. I myself will be strutting back in on Saturday high on life with only a few weeks to go until my systems respond to the 2nd shot.

So with my J&J in the morning, started getting a headache in the evening and started to get that hard to explain feeling like I was going to be sick the next day. Woke up at 1:30 in the morning, freezing and aching all over. Took a bath to warm up while browsing sites like TFP. Went back to sleep eventually. Still aching in the morning, not quite as bad. Had a bad headache all day. By the afternoon aching was gone, headache faded out mostly by the evening. Went on a walk in the afternoon and my legs felt weak. Today I woke up and was all back to normal.

Yesterday my guys got vaccinated. They have been asking a ton of questions since I got mine n why I got mine? I told them I did it to see my granddaughter and for them so I'm not bringing it in to them since I'm also a civilian. We had a 98% turn out on my unit. Almost all of them got it. Highest in our prison. Today is 24 hrs post vaccine for them. I told them that we aren't doing anything today. Take the day off. I'm happy. I just hope I don't have 227 sick men to take care of!😆
