I have an Intex 1200 gph Krystal Clear Sand Filer Pump, model SF80110-2.

This model has a built-in timer, but it will only allow you to run the pump for a set amount of hours per day continuously and then shut off. If the power goes out or it is unplugged, you can turn it back on and reset the timer, but it will be timed to run say 8 hours (or how ever many you set it for) from that time.

I have bought a Outdoor smart plug, which works through wifi. I can set the timer to run pretty much however I would like for it to with this method, but....

I need to know if anyone knows how to bypass the timer circuit built into the cover of the filter. I had first thought I would just connect the black wire and the white wire coming into the circuit to a switch and just leave the switch always on (to be controlled by the timer function of the wifi plug), but when this pump is first plugged in with the factory circuit in place it must be first turned on so I'm thinking this will likely not work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you identify which wires the timer uses to power the motor?
 
Well I know there is a white plug at the top left of the circuit in the motor which has 4 wires which connect that to the timer built into the pump cover. I know two of these are power the timer, and two of them are likely returning signal to the motor to turn power on, but not sure how to figure out which does what.

Did you figure anything out? I have same pump but my power button doesn't work. I have tried to look for a new board but to no avail.

i have tried several ways to jumper past the timer, but to no avail. i thought i had it figured out, so i soldered a jumper and now when it turns on it will run for about 2 secs and shut off, then back on, then back off. it just keeps that Crud up. so, i broke down and bought an Intex cartridge filter and tied it into the sand filter. this pump is only used for my sprayers anyway, but if someone can figure this out it would be nice.
 
I have this problem too. Put the RCD on a zigbee power switch into which the pump is plugged.

Have you checked whether if the power button itself can be reached? It might be possible to wire in an esp8266 or other tiny controller that simply shorts the power button contacts, effectively mimicking the button pressing action.
 
I have the same pump. If you cycle through the timer settings there is one that displays "FP" on the screen. This disables the timer and the pump runs continuously. If you disconnect the power then reconnect it when the pump is in this mode, it automatically turns back on in FP mode. You shouldnt have to do anything other than set it on FP and then use your timer to turn power on and off to the filter.

not on mine. Even with the FP option there is the manual activation button thats you are required to press to start the pump.

the FP mode does not automatically stop the pump, after pressing the button it basically runs continuously until you cut the power or press the button to stop it. After the power is back again need to press the start button on the pump to start it again
 
They must have changed the design .. if mine is running in FP mode and I unplug the unit, when I plug it back in it automatically starts running in FP mode without me pressing anything. This is how I have turned my filter on and off for the past week.

Here is a picture of my pump - same model. It came as part of my pool package and was delivered in May of this year.

Note that @infernix and @mazzoop80 are both in the Netherlands. We have seen manufacturers sell the same model in different markets with slightly different features. It would not be surprising that the model in the Netherlands operates a bit differently then the model sold in the US.

@Britten, I ran into the same problem with my outdoor timer as you. I integrated the pump into my smart home by using a esp8266 like device. This idea was inspired by @infernix 's suggestion above. Here is my post using Qubino ZWave to integrate the Intex pump into my smart home network.

Not a US/International thing. Mine is the same way. If set to FP it runs continuously, but if the power is interrupted I need to press the power button to re-start the pump after power is restored, just like the users from the Netherlands.

Likely the design has changed at some point.
 
I wanted to upgrade my pump to a 300gph variant. Because of the way the timing mechanism works, I have decided to move past Intex and look at comparable Hayward pumps, that will work with "standard" timing devices. Basically I want more control of when my systems run.
 
so has no one tried the method on youtube which is for the intex SWG?
from what i can tell, it is simply bypassing the sensor though. But they report chlorine is generated when power off or on.
Concept may work.

any updates on the pump? also looking to do this and have my own timer in use.
Such a dumb system from intex, i have to run the system manually effectively and in line with the swg.
 
My model SF70110-2 does turn on automatically when in PF mode and controlled by an external timer.
