Sanitizer,oxidezer and disinfect

Hi, can you provide more detail on the products or specific chemicals you are asking about?

A sanitizer will reduce cooties, and oxidizer acts to break down materials (skin cells, solids like leaves, etc), and a disinfectant will kill cooties.

Consider the sanitized speciman to be cleaned, but not perfectly so. A few bugs or "cooties" can remain.
A disinfected speciman will be cleaned and hopefully free of germs, or "cooties" but no guarantee
A sterile speciman has NO germs or cooties at all.

Cooties, now there is a word I would only expect from my 8 year old.... BTW she loves the pool, spent most of last summer in it.... Dad is thinking of using TFP this year, to reduce the maintenance cost.

According to your explanation can acidwashing be considered some type of sterlization?

You could never "sterilized" an open body of water....you can just hope to "disinfect" it as much as possible.

An acid wash will be an almost abusive way to disinfect a pool- every time you acid wash a pool you're removing surface plaster. That can severely shorten the expected lifespan of the pool's finish.

Can you explain the problem you're having that you are considering such an extreme course of action?
