How much DE for Pentair filter? (Pic attac

I’m a noob. I have a brand new ready to start filter. How much DE does this filter need?

This is a cartridge filter.It doesn't use DE.

That would be zero DE..

Just to double check.. I assume that the output of your pump is plumbed directly into the input of your filter, without going through any valves.. Is that correct?

If not, show us a couple of pics of your equipment pad.

Ya looks pretty hideous. The spider web of pipes is all covered now.

Since we are on the subject of my pool equipment, I'm doing my own start up (owner builder).....Do these pipes need to be cut for the spa air suction? (1 pool/spa pump and 1 booster pump)

You can use it a little at a time even with a cartridge filter to polish the water as a final step after you have stabilized the chemicals and you're smooth sailing. I have 2 pools with cartridges and use it.

I labeled everything already. I'm just curious if that pipe is the one I cut for the spa air intake.

Ok... I'm here to learn like everyone else... Please tell me about the pipes and what they do.. I assume this style of spa does not use a blower, is that correct.

Why are there two pipes and not just one??

Appreciate any feedback so I can understand what is happening.
