New Build | Athens Georgia

 that is dark water!! Like @Newdude said we can fix that right up! Have you done any looking around your area for liquid chlorine? If you can't find chlorine you can use PLAIN bleach (no smells, splashless, cloramax, etc) from Walmart or such.

Here is hoping they can get the liner locked in. Have them put liner lock on it to make sure it stays in. They should have it on the truck. It looks kind of like white "rope" only it is rubber.

I'm sure we can get it clean. You guys are a great community!

The pool guys did get the the liner locked in and they finished cutting out the steps, returns, & skimmer. Hopefully the water guy will be able to bring his last load this weekend. Not sure when the electrician is coming back to finish connecting the pump and everything.

Dogs sure will be glad when the fence goes back up and they can have their yard back.

I posted on somebody’s thread a while ago that my dog thought the big hole in the ground was the best present ever..... until we filled it with water and it blew his mind even more.

PB connected pump to temporary power and we ran it all night. As of this morning I can now see the main drains. Still a little merky (especially after brushing) but looks a lot better!

Just checked the tracking on my TF100. It is out for delivery! I'll post first test numbers soon.

First test results:

FC: 1.5
CC: 1.0
pH: 7.5
TA: 50
CH: 225

I assume CYA is zero. I'm not sure if the PB has added any yet and it is raining here and understand that test is best done with sunlight. I will check it when the weather clears up.

I have the pool math app to share the results but I don't see them in my profile. Is there something else I need to do to get them to show up?

Day 62

Water guy made last delivery and we are now officially full!

To Do:
  • Finish balancing water.
  • Move some more dirt around to soften the slope around the pool.
  • Install fence panel (see next to power pole) to hide pump & filter from pool.
  • Finish electrical (still on temp power)

Looking GREAT bud !! It’s amazing how quick it cleaned up. The time of year helped considerably. It would have been harder if the nasty stuff was able to grow as exponentially fast as it likes to when it’s warm out. Now that you know what to do, follow the rules if it ever happens again. The system works and you are clearly proof / exhibit # 736268474

LOL, I did practically nothing to clear it up. Just ran the filter and threw in the robot a couple of times. But yes, I probably would have been more concerned it if were summer time.

I do have a question though... The pressure on my filter still has not registered any increase in pressure. Should I clean it anyway (will probably have the PB do it since he has not technically handed over the pool yet). I'm concerned about there potentially being metals in all the gunk and they being dissolved into the water while they sit in the pleats of the filter.

Most of the gunk you saw in the pool is now in your filter. It’s dilutes like crazy so it always seems more than it actually is, but still. For the 20 minutes it takes to clean the filter, your piece of mind is worth every second. Make your PB ‘show you how to clean it’ and he will end up doing most of the work.

 ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww that needed to be done!!! So how high was you pressure on the filter gauge?

Good job taking care of your pool!
The pressure never really went up. It reads virtually zero on low and just right at 4 PSI on med-low. Does it matter what rpm I use as my clean base-line?

No, but more rpms will be more psi. It may be easier to tell the 25% difference at 22psi than it is at 4 psi depending on the guage. Get a clean baseline at high speed also.

The water guy said he pulled it from a local city water tower but he doesn't usually use that one. It was just the one the city told him to go to. He was ill b/c he was sitting at the tower he wanted to use but the city made him drive across town.

The brush I have has little magnets on the front of it. Whatever was in the water it had what looks like flakes of rusty metal that stuck to the magnets. My best guess is that the tower is rusty on the inside and the water has been sitting for a while. I guess I got all the gunk that had settled to the bottom.

SWEET! What are you planning on putting on the dirt?

I would put something to divert that water from the equipment panel and pad ASAP even if it is just a 2x6 or such to keep any chance rain from washing it out for now.
