Vegas OB! Just got plans back and need some feedback (pics included :) )

Re post #760:

Cliff, I agree completely...

Boo hoo, poor Will. His pool is perfect. "I don't get to lug around as many jugs of bleach or risk inhaling as much MA as every other new plaster pool owner. I feel left out..."

Will: Maybe they will name your pool surface after you, the "BWB" pool finish. "Big Will's Bling", the finish to dazzle your eyes and ease your water maintenance!

Love ya' Will,
Mama Suz

I swear it's not sand leading into my pool it's just a few shells lounging getting there sparkle on. No more chemicals added and this is how water looks

Will, absolutely striking!

IMAZ, I hope you like it that warm. Many people do. For me, it depends a lot on the air temperature. Generally, I like the pool temperature close to 82-84.

Good old sum-sum-summertime!

I like it about 86. Don't tell Will but that was from a couple days ago. The real temp was 86. I just posted that for his not so humble brag about how shiny his pool was. Hahahahaha

Lol, I'm still jealous and wish my pool would get to 88-90. The problem with 80-87 is the pool has a chill factor when you get in. And it takes me literally 15-20 to build up the courage to get in and once I finally decide to jump I scream in a high pitch voice as I'm diving in

Will, how much sun does your pool get and during what part of the day?

My pool has only had water in it for 3 days, it's currently at 82 degrees. My pool is on the east side of my house, so it gets morning sun and starts to get shaded in the late evening since I have a single story house. We do get a breeze through our backyard regularly and that seems to bring the temp down a little. I'm interested in seeing what our temp is in a couple weeks once the water has had more time to warm up, I'll let you know!

My house faces north so my pool is south and it gets sun from morning till about 4pm. So I can't figure out why it won't warm up....
Like wasted said I'm considering using my heater in the desert lol

89 seems like a really good temp during the day. My pool gets up to 92 and wife likes it at that temp and 92 is great at night! I do like temps in mid to high 80's...It's amazing that each pool seems to have a mind of it's own :)

Have you checked with another themometer to see if the reading is correct? Of course that won't change how the water feels to you.

Do some running or digging more trenches - then that water will feel great!!! The loungers are for AFTER you swim and play and need to rest; not BEFORE!!!

Your pool water stats are still crazy!

I think Will might have pool fairies that are doing the chemicals and cooling off the pool to the temperature they like.

Maybe the temperature is due to your elevation, i think i saw a hill in the background of one of your pictures. Have you tried checking with any of the neighbors that are close. I know it might see awkward to knock on someone's door and ask them their pool temp but i think you are outgoing enough to do it.

I haven't tried a different thermometer but that is a good idea. But one day the spa only got to 88 and I could feel the difference in the temp. My pool is pretty chilly.
And my digging days are over lol. I'm all about taking on projects but that is one I'm willing to pay someone to do. My pic and trenching shovel are still in backyard and it sickens me to look at them hahaha.
Oh and my water remains the same. I put a little MA in to lower TA but that is the only thing that changes daily

Great idea about checking with neighbors! I will be doing that this weekend, and I have no problem knocking on their doors and asking . I'm sure if there is something wrong in our development or a strange person lurking they will come running to my door for help lol
And we are on the edge of the mountains but it's still gets to 115....
Will, you need some AZ sun. My pool has been getting up to 90 the last few days.
It does seem to start out around 85-87 & climbs from there.
I'm afraid of how hot it will get when the nights stay warm...

I'm jealous of everyone with temps over 88. I'm just trying to get there.

18k and I'm going to switch to computer to update sig now. Oops lol

I think someone is dumping ice in your pool LOL. My pool was 85 today, so mine is slowly coming up. I do hope it gets a little warmer though, I also like a warm pool and so do my dogs!

I'm doing my own startup and testing 3 times a day, I've used less acid than I expected so far. I'm curious to see how much I use in this first month.
