New pool owners, so I’m sure we messed up along the way, but let me tell you the series of events to get us where we are today:
* Low salt pool ~ 75000L in ground w/ liner
1. Did weekly at home tests (levels more or less seemed fine)
2. Took water in for pool store testing every few weeks and adjusted according to their recommendations
3. Poor pool upkeep knowledge apparently: Never did weekly shocks, or algaecide treatments, or stain and scale
4. Went in for a test and needed to add stabilizer (34ppm). FC was 2.43, alkalinity and calcium were a bit low. We didn’t adjust that night. Went to bed. Woke up to a cloudy pool.
5. Over the next few days, we added the required chemicals and algaecide and the pool cleared up nicely.
6. However, our pool started reading zero chlorine, even with super chlorinate on.
7. Went back to pool store and test read 1.0 CC, 0 FC
8. We’ve shocked 3 times now and still at zero
9. Went back to pool store and tested again. CC now at 0, but FC still at 0. Low stabilizer (35ppm)
9. We’ve diagnosed other issues: cleaned baskets, cleaned salt cell, good rpm, good psi, good pH, checked test strip at the jet and it is pinkish
10. Last night we added stabilizer and shocked again. (Rained again)
11. Woke up this morning, still at zero
Any ideas? Do we just need to keep shocking? Pool is clear
