Why would you need an OmniLogic and an AquaRite system

I'm in the process of having a pool installed. When I signed my contract I told my rep that I wanted a salt pool with the OmniLogic system. My contract shows that I paid for both the AquaRite and OmniLogic sytems. I was told that I'm being ripped off because you don't need both. I would love to hear your comments. It's Saturday and I plan on calling Hayward on Monday to gain a little more insight. Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

The OmniLogic control panel can control an Aquarite T-cell SWG.

You do not need an OmniLogic control panel and an Aquarite control panel.

You do need a Hayward Aquarite T-cell which can be included in a OmniLogic bundle or purchased separately.

Thanks ajw22....I paid for both the AquaRite and OmniLogic systems. They began installing the Aquarite (pic below) and the T-cell is temporarily installed to get us through the weekend. They have not began to install the OmniLogic. I paid ~7800 for the Omni and ~3200 after tax for the units. My brother told me the AquaRite would be redundant and not required. I sent a message to the vendor but haven't heard back. If you were to choose one, which one would you go with? My pool doesn't have many features at all but I travel a good bit and want the option to control everything. Thanks

The Aquarite panel only controls the SWG cell.

The OmniLogic panel can control all your pool equipment including the SWG cell. It all depends how things are wired.

If you have the pool equipment running without the OmniLogic system are they going to redo all the electrical to run through the OmniLogic Load Center?

What your PB is doing makes no sense to me and is costing you money.

Post pics of your entire equipment pad as it is now.

You can see, the pool is pretty basic at this point, no bells and whistles. The installers arrived on Friday but my wife failed to tell me they were there doing the install so I was unable to talk to them before they left for the weekend. I haven't talked to the project manager yet, but I was previously told the electric would be run post temp install. I showed my brother the pic below and he told me the pump they installed won't work with the OmniLogic and why the heck did they install the AquaRite systems if I was going with omni....you know what know and now I'm trying to put the pieces together.

Well that is a single speed pump which the OmniLogic can turn on and off. The SS pump will cost you a lot more in electrical cost then a large variable speed pump that the OmniLogic can vary the speed and electrical usage as needed.

What pump does your contract say you will be getting?

You really need to find out what the end state plan is for your equipment.

And while they are swapping out equipment you really should get a larger cartridge filter. Something 400-500 sq inches that would only need to be cleaned once or twice a year.

And have then get rid of that red ball valve that will stick and break eventually and use a diverter valve that can be repaired when necessary.

Actually if you have 2 bodies of water, like a pool and a hottub, and both bodies are salt water with salt cells. In that case you do need both omnilogic and aquarite in order to have both salt cells. omnilogic is not capable at this time to control 2 salt cells independently. I believe they do it this way i believe so that the cells can not get mixed up somehow and end up making enough chlorine for a 40,000 gallon pool in a couple thousand gallon hot tub. that is IF they are seperate bodies water. meraning that they do not share water via waterfall or such.
