Very nice!! More and more folks in Arizona are going with those shade sails and the more I see them popping up around the neighborhood. the more serious I get about installing one above the pool. Thanks for sharing...

93 and awful. With very high temps and heat indexes all this week it is only going to get worse.

My pump runs 24/7 added a fountain yesterday, water temp only dropped to 90 and already climbing. I’m ready to a have an ice truck deliver a dump truck full of ice...lol

I'm thinking of building a PVC return fountain... and shifting my schedule to only run the pump at night and in the early morning hours. My understanding is it will warm less (i.e. only the top inches) during the day and circulate to cool after sundown... with exceptions, of course. Like circulate during the summer downpours we get in VA to take advantage of the cool rain.

We'll see if it has any effect with Sat heat index to be 110-115. ?
 
91 degree pool water here in Indianapolis area. We close the auto cover at night to lock the days warmth in. It’s usually about 88 in the morning.
 
87 degrees we had a lot of rain yesterday and no sun. Hopefully we will get some sun and the pool temp back to 92 degrees :)

Reduced sunlight hours/angle are taking effect. And no heat waves the last few weeks. But still a nice 85.

Noon time here. Outside air temperature: 105 degrees. Water temp: 90 degrees. :(

I agree. Although I will still use my pool, temps above 86, starts to get too warm for me. Yesterday afternoon for example, my pool temp was 92. :rant:

It's not that I want it that hot by any means, I just can't really do anything "reasonable" about it. Those pool chillers such as Glacier and AquaCal are becoming more popular in my area now and they are very effective but they are also extremely expensive.

So, until an unknown rich uncle leaves me in his will, I will just have to grin and bear it until late August to early September when the lower nighttime temps will begin to push my pool temps down a bit. :mrgreen:
