There is NOTHING I would change! We will look at that last light and see what others think. I don't know must how bright those lights are so it may be a non-issue.

Will there be lighting up on the spa decking? I am guessing you will have a fire pit up there with comfy seating for me to curl up in. What about lighting for the landscaping? These could all go in the system y'all come up with.

What are you thinking for color and material? Does your wife have any ideas yet? Do you?

There is one picture missing-pic of where the pool will be going.

Do the kids know what you are planning?

Haven't thought about lighting on the spa deck so I have added that into my notes (thinking maybe put lights in the actual bench seats below)
Colors- we are thinking of light to earth tones with a travertine coping and spray deck for the rest (got my idea from twinkiemom)
Wife- well she just wants water so while I'm planning the pool I'm going to get her a slip in slide and a hose . After reading this site I have went from a basic pool no spa to a pool and spa with a grill and outdoor fireplace with pizza oven (which she thinks is crazy) and putting in some glad tiles and having water features with stacked stone and a stone spillway for the spa [emoji51].
So thanks TFP (Kim) for putting me in the poor house lol
Kids - they help my draw my Horrible outline in backyard so I can get measurements so they are really excited. I think I will let them share with my wife and get a deluxe slip in slide so they can share while dad plans his oasis [emoji41]

ScreenLogic is a computer program that communicates with the EasyTouch and allows you to use your PC, Tablet, or Phone to view the status of your pool, and turn things on and off.

To do this, a device called a Protocol Adapter is used. It "talks" Pentair at one end and Ethernet at the other end. It basically translates the language that Pentair uses into something the Ethernet understands.

The Protocol adapter can be connected one of two ways. You can use a wireless connection that uses two transceivers.. One is mounted to the EasyTouch and the other is inside the house. If you look at the pics above you will not see a Transceiver because I have used the direct wire method. I just ran a four wire cable from the EasyTouch to the Protocol Adapter, mainly because my EasyTouch is just a few feet from my Ethernet Router.

Buying an EasyTouch without ScreenLogic is like buying a car without tires!! Although there are some here, who still believe in the Flintstone method of using Pentair remotes... Sigh!!! :hammer:

So just for clarification , for automation I need to purchase
1. Ez touch system 4or 8
2. Screen logic 2
3 load center panel
4. Protocol adapter
Let me know if im on the right path

Puppy name is Bear and he is 5 years old. I likes to snack on fingers lol. For some reason people always like to stick there fingers by his mouth and I can never figure out why for the life of me [emoji848]. But he is he pickiest dog ever and will only eat jerky or his dog food and his favorite toy is a giant horse ball and he loves to give piggy back rides to my kids for some strange reason.
Funny thing is we had him and our late st Benard a few years back together and you talk about clean up...... let's just say they had there own trash can they filled up and had a special shovel and I had a hazmat suit to get the task done

:shock: a rottie AND a St??????? at the same time????????????? I bet it was a super sized can at that!!!! I say that after having a American Bulldog (120lbs) and a mastiff/lab mix (90 lbs at the same time BUT I also have 6.5 acres so..............clean up is easy IF they did it by the house which was not often.

Bear? cute name! Piggy back rides :roll: but heaven help someone that touches one of his kids I bet!!!!

What will you do with him while the workers are there and his yard is messed up?

So for the kids..........make a 6 month calendar. Put important happenings on it as they happen. Have a list of important parts of the build by the calendar so they can cross them off after they happen. Dig, rebar, plumbing, eletrical, gunite, patio, plaster, shade/outdoor kitchen, etc.

You need to buy an EasyTouch 8... the load center is just part of the EasyTouch 8. I suggest you buy a package like this one which includes the IC60 SWCG and two actuators. See... http://www.sunplay.com/pentair-easy-touch-control-system-521150

You will need to buy ScreenLogic, which comes with the Protocol Adapter and wireless communications link.. Like this... http://www.sunplay.com/pentair-screenlogic-interface-and-wireless-522104

You don't "need" your equipment now, but you need to plan for it. As Brian says, by the time you are ready for equipment, there may be new products to consider..

Jim and I still working out the exact details of the coding language for I/O control but it will likely be a mixture of Morse code and 80's music....

I had to name the dog cause the last time the kids named something we had a Tyrone and something else crazy I can't recall at this time lol.

He is a house dog so he only goes outside to handle his business and will come right back in. He's spoiled and thinks he's a lap dog. But you are correct, he is amazing with all kids but when adults come near my wife or kids without a proper introduction he is highly protective.

Great idea for the calendar! We will definitely be doing that

We are a little over average height, me 6'4 and my wife 5'9 and my kids are tall as well so I was trying to figure out what the shallow end depth should be.
I plan on doing a basketball hoop and I know we will spend most of our time there. My thought was 4ft but I seen someone did 3'9. Any thoughts on this pros and cons????
I was also thinking of taking the deep end to 6.5-7 ft

Vegas isn't too far... Especially if I'm bringing a compressor....... and propane.......and epoxy.... and thermoplastic....

Maybe Matt was right :deal:

Unless you plan on having a diving board, then in my opinion, a play pool design is best. Say 4 feet on each end with the middle being 6 or 7 feet. This set up allows for volleyball style games.

I would not go less than 4 feet no matter what style pool.

I'm short, fat and Italian and I have 7ft deep end. When I jump off the waterfall rocks (nuclear cannonball), my bum hits the bottom. You're gonna need more than 7ft.

4' minimum on the shallow end or else it will be useless to you.

Now I have read all your post about aquabrite and even looked to see if here was a dealer here which sadly there isn't. But if he price is right and you would be serious about doing a pool in Vegas let me know. You have my email so feel free to contact me with any details as I'm VERY open to this idea
