variable speed pump shuts off

my variable speed pump shuts off when i try to speed it up

It might be handy if we knew what specific pump you have, as well as if it is being controlled by automation, or if it is a standalone pump?

Also, just to make sure we are both on the same page... Do you have a VS pump or a 2-speed pump?

What are you doing when you "try to speed it up"?
