TP-100 vs K-2006 Kit

The TFPro is brand new. And has all the same tests as the TF100

Be sure to use the SmartStir. Great help in getting accurate test results.

Forgive my stupidity but the more I read and watch those 8 year old videos. The more confused I get.
Do you guys have a phone number so someone can run 1 test.
I still haven't tested the the pool.

To test for FC (free chlorine):
1. Fills the larger test tube to the 10ml line
2. Add one scoop of “DPD powder” (in the can)
3. The water should turn pink if chlorine is in the water. If it doesn’t turn pink, go put chlorine in your pool.
4. Add one drop of “FAS-DPD TITRATING AGENT” and swirl the tune to mix it up.
5. If the water turned clear in step 4, stop the test is done and you have 0.5ppm of FC. This is too low for anything and you should add more ASAP.
6. If the water is still pink, keep adding drips one at a time and swirling after each drop until the water turns clear.
7. Count the total number of drops you added and divide that number in half to get your total FC ppm.

for example, if it took 9 drops to turn the liquid from pink to clear, then the FC is 4.5ppm.

Awe.. give yourself some credit and confidence. It looks overwhelming when you are looking at the WHOLE kit.. probably like the first time you drove a WHOLE car... just take them one step at a time.. one test at a time. There 6 test in there 7 if you include the salt. (or 8 depending on how you count them)
pH
OTO Chlorine
FAS/DPD chlorine (more precise and has a wider range)
CC just uses whats left over of the FAS test
TA
CH
CYA
Salt (if you got that option)

But lets start with this one:
Start of with the OTO and pH test. the one with the pretty colors with square plastic tubes. Don't look at anything else for now.. we are only going to do that one.. then we will move on. Find the instructions for that and try it. Everything is color coded. Chorine tests are yellow, pH test is red. Watch out that you use the correct reagent for the OTO Cl drop test (R-06000), and not the DPD one. I would start off using three drops of the reagents and see if its dark enough for you... if not use four or try five. Report back and we will do the next one. Post pics if you want.

Its like making a cake... or a cocktail 🍸🍹

The best place to get your water sample is from the middle-ish of the pool, about 18 inches down while the pumps are on. Some people have constructed special gizmos to the that like its some kind of NOAA project. Just reach out and get a sample that is at arms depth as far out as you can. Don't sample from the Waterfall, your pH would be skewed by the aeration of the fluffy water.
(I suck the water up with one of these...shhh don't tell my kids}

Not always are the water falls directly flowing from the SWCG. Easiest is getting it straight out of a wall return sort of straight from the horses mouth and then comparing it with water across and away from the there. That'll show a difference if SWCG is putting out.
