TF-100 and K-2006C do the same tests with the same chemicals. The TF-100 is a better value with reagents that will last you one or two seasons and fresh reagents are always sent.

Also get the Smart Stir that makes testing easier and more accurate.

TFT has their test kit bundled with the Smart Stir in a nice case as the Pro Kit.

For borates get Borates Test Strips

Both kits use Taylor reagents... so in that sense they are the same. The biggest difference is the proportion of the reagents in the kit. The TFTest kits have a better combination of reagents in the proportions that supports the way most residential pools are tested. For a salt pool, I recommend the TFT Pro Salt kit, it comes with a stirrer, which makes the testing easier and more consistent.

Once you're accustomed to the stirrer you'll never get caught testing without it

Yes, that is the correct kit.
the XL option adds extra reagents if you need to do the FAS-DPD test a lot and at high FC levels. This option is usually for those ppl who are battling algae. It’s not necessary, but you can get it if you want.
I personally don’t prefer the pH meter. I like the color drops. Again, It’s not necessary, but you can get it if you want.
Same with the sample sizer, makes life a bit easier, but not necessary.

Anyone got a code for the test?
I wasn't ready last year when I became a member. The code has expired

I have kinda a combo of both kits and there are some things I prefer for the TF-100 and some things I prefer about the k-2006C. The TF-100 comes with way more CYA testing reagent and has a much easier to read vial for CYA. It has a lot more reagent for the chlorine tests then the Taylor. The two kits use different PH reagents and different Comparators with slightly different PH values on them. I prefer the one that comes with the Taylor. The Taylor 2006C all the reagents come in 60ml bottles. You probably really don’t need 60ml bottles of all the reagents though for a season. There are some reagents for base demand and acid demand in the Taylor 2006C that you won’t use much if at all. I’ve never had to use them because pool math app gets the correct doses right for me every time. I like the color coded instructions on the inside of the Taylor 2006C way better then the instructions in the TF-100. I wound up finding their instructions online and printing and laminating it for my combined test kit. The 2006Cs case is way better. I bought a tackle box to keep everything in once I got the TF-100. Neither kit comes with the speed stir which is a must have. Neither kit comes with a salt test so you have to buy that separately as well. Both are very good kits and have slight differences, but I would probably go with the TF-100 just due to the amount of CYA reagent and the easier to use vial for the CYA kit. I think the idea of the TF-100 was to provide more of the reagent you will actually need and none of the stuff you really don’t need.

The history of the TF kits was to provide a kit with the proportion of reagents to better support residual pools needs and for performing SLAMs if necessary.

With more people getting SWG's for there pool TFTKits have a Pro version that includes a speed stir and with a nicer case and a salt version. I expect that will become the new standard recommendation. We shall see!

I just signed up yesterday to become a member of the site. I am also going to be purchasing the TFtest kit. Is there a code I should've received?

Finally I got the pool ready to test but Holy Schnikes! I'm overwhelmed with this kit. I don't know where to start. Coming from a freaking strip in can from Walmart. Any videos please?
All I need is 1 time showing an I'm good
