Tile Marker Ideas

We are going to add tile markers to the steps and spa bench but not looking to do the continuous tile row look. Looking for more of a 2x2 tile spaced out for a minimalist look but still help with marking the steps/bench for safety. Maybe 4 - 1x1 tiles to make a square shape? Would appreciate any pictures of your pool tile markers for ideas! Thanks all!

It's four 1" x 1" ceramic tiles in a diamond shape spaced 12" apart.

thanks! the calls and calls and conversations to get those done! my builder as totally against it but after the plaster he went in he now loves them.

Ours are our 6 x 6 waterline tiles cut into quarters. So roughly 3 x 3. However, I would recommend more color contrast than tiles provide.

Thanks for the advice. We are going to go with a shade of blue to match the waterline tile so we should be good!
