Temperature reading high

Hi
We bought a refurbished leisure bay hot tub 2.5 years ago and has worked great. It’s July in Fl so really hot. The issue I’m having is that we set our hot tub to 95 but the water has continued to read 101. Checked the temperature with a cooking thermometer and it read 101 as well. Not sure what to do? We cool the water in the summer so our 2 year old can play in.
also have a Chlormaker on it that always reads high, we’ve added water to lower salt content and nothing. Seems like it’s always on vacation mode too.
thanks for your help:)

Don't know about chlormaker, but high temps are common in hot areas. The pumps running produce a small amount of heat, and a well insulated spa will hold onto it when it's hot out. Add some direct sunlight and it's a crab-boil. You could reduce filter times, but that can lead to water issues from insufficient filtration and chemical dispersion. And it won't cool it off, just help keep it from overheating. Or you can add fresh water to cool, which dilutes your chemicals and may affect balance. Another method is to freeze some water jugs and make reuseable spa ice-cubes for when you want to use it.
