SWG seems to be working harder with less output

Great. The other polarity? Be sure to read the wiki I posted.

That data implies the cell is producing chlorine just fine.

My SWG has spoiled me, I don’t test a lot because it’s like ground hog day and the same everytime except for PH climbing slowly.
It’s amazing how balanced water ( TFP recommended values ) stays clear!!
And this has been me since literally fill day. I’ve followed TFP to the letter and it’s been amazing. It why I’m a little worried about the FC being so unstable.

So should I be worried? The FC is just seeming very unstable and this is the first time Ph has gone down not up… I really don’t want algae. I’ve been so diligent with my testing and chemical balancing.

pH only goes down if you add an acidic product, such as acid, CYA, or dichlor/trichlor.

Add liquid chlorine if necessary to raise your FC. Be sure you are creating enough FC each day to cover your losses.

Ok so the CyA I added has lowered the ph. And yes I will increase the swg - it’s behavior has changed significantly in the last few weeks so I’m trying to learn it again. I used to sit it at 10% and pretty much always had 5 FC. Now I’m up over 50% for same result. Will keep playing with it. I’ll test again in an hour and make sure the FC is rising. Otherwise I’ll put some liquid chlorine in to bump it up. Thanks for the help. I’m still learning so much.

I assume you have a T15 (a signature would really help us help you). If so, 10% setting is way too low For your pool in your climate, I would assume 30% setting for 24 hours would be necessary.

You know your pool better then us, if you think something is off maybe do a overnight chlorine loss test or just SLAM it for a few days?
Also your I’m FL has the water temp gone way up?

Sorry if this has been covered in the thread before just thinking what would have changed.

I don’t know how to do the signature…. I have a t-15. 30% brought it down to it’s all time low this morning. I’ve got it back at 100. Will try it at 60% once I have it back up again.

Funny, my FC is down to 4 from 7 and I checked my CYA and its back down to 50. I have been running the heater ( although not doing a lot ) and my water is 90 which is high for my pool.
And this is why the TFP method makes sense to me. Keeping the FC on the high end means of something happens there is room for error rather than it being 0 for a while without you knowing. We have had a lot of rain so I’m assuming that’s why everything got messed up. Hoping will be back to normal by tomorrow.
