Spa emptying when selecting spa

Thanks I’m looking on Amazon and this is what comes up for Hayward even though the handle says pentair. Also the pool guy has been using some kind of loctite which sets like gel any ideas on the gaskets on each divertor acres
Your actuator is Hayward and your diverter valve it is screwed on top of is Pentair.

Use Pentair parts on that diverter.

Thanks makes sense and using marine sealant glue from loctite is this just for the bolts ? Or don’t bother and just use the magic lube

Pool pump has been running 4 hrs a day and the below water loss is happening in the pool additional to the spa emptying.

I’m down around 1.5 inches in 48 hrs . The inside of the bucket is down around 1/4 of an inch,

Questions

1. Could this be after the pool pump was replaced and the pool pump has a leak ?
2. Could this be after the water inlet jets were replaced with generic not Hayward parts as some were cracked ? I also replaced the inner thread

Next steps for the pump and any suggestions to see if it’s leaking

3. Should I be using green gobbler leak detection to test around the pool equipment by adding half a cup to the skimmer,

Summary. - The pool guy has been out 4 times now and I’m struggling to get the spa
Issue resolved and now the pool dropping water any thoughts of connected

Hi AJW I have 2 more new divertors coming to replace the other 2 AM.

My next question would be should I change the gasket on the Hayward multi port as it appears my pool is only loosing water when the pump is running as I’m now on day 2 with no pump running and my pool is at the same level.

Spa is still draining with the pump off

Below is a picture of my multi port any suggestions on the part needed thanks.

Btw I just moved in not sure how much maintenance hasn’t taken. Place as you can see

GM I replaced all except one divertor just as a precaution some were more worn than others,

Unfortunately the spa still leaks down when the pump is turned off and the pool appears to be loosing water with the bucket test only when I have the pump running

, I have the pool guy coming back for the 4th time this week and I keep reminding him this all started after the pump was replaced any insight comments appreciated

To be clear, does the spa water level drop when the pump is running in POOL mode?

Does the spa water level continue dropping or does it stabilize at some level when in POOL mode?

When does your spa spillover run?

Pump running Pool mode - During the time the pump is running the water fills the spa then over the spill over into the pool no problems with draining.

Pump Off - when the pump is off in pool mode the spa slowly drains down to the jet level over night and stabilizes.

Spa spill over runs - in pool mode during pump running.

Thanks AJW my pool guy cannot figure it out

That is different then what you said in post #71.

Unfortunately the spa still leaks down and the pool if I run the pump,

This is an example of where diagnosing your problem gets confusing.

I do not see which pipe feeds your spa spillover when in POOL mode.

You have four pipes on your returns:
  • SPA return which is OFF indicated by the red line
  • WATERFALL which is OFF indicated by the orange line
  • And two POOL RETURNS circled in yellow.
Do you have a waterfall that is different than your spa spillover? Or is that another name for your spa spillover?

I edited post #71 “Unfortunately the spa still leaks down when the pump is turned off and the pool appears to be loosing water I left the pump off for 2 days and lost no water when I started the pump in pool mode today I lost a little water”

Spa spill over runs on its own when in pool mode

Separate Valve for water fall and pool

The bottom valve with yellow is where the check valve was replaced in the picture below is where I dug it out to have the pool guy replace the flapper valve. Below in the picture

Where does this spa return pipe connect to the return water?

The bottom goes into the ground.

Where does the top go to?

Water for the spa spill over gets the water from when in pool mode the spa is filling until it goes over into the pool in my first picture second one is where the spa is connected to from your picture

So that label POOL RETURN is wrong?

It should be SPA SPILLOVER?

Close that pipe with the handle pointed up in the picture and confirm your spillover stops in POOL mode. Leave it that way overnight and report if your spa level drops with the pump off.
