I have something yellow in a few areas on the top of my solar blanket. It's bright yellow and it has been wet from the rain, so don't know if it was powdery. Can yellow algae form on the top of my cover? My pool water looks great.

Could it be pollen?

If you can remove the cover without dumping it in the pool that would be good.

It is not likely to be yellow algae. That typically forms in shady areas of a pool.

I am in northern Ohio, I have never seen so much pollen, tree and plant debris than this year. The pine tree pollen is yellow and it’s ridiculous. It coats everything. More than likely that’s what you are seeing. Hoping it ends soon.
