I do have a Menard's near me. Wow, they have 12.5% for cheap? That's cool! I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

So you get a better understanding
On the faucet that is direct from the well TA is 360
You will always be fighting rising Ph due to High fill TA. So it will be a fact of life. Adding Borates helps in stabilizing the rise of Ph, but it will always need the same amount of Acid to drop ph, just longer intervals. I will highly suggest an automated acid addition pump(not immediately, but as soon as you get the hang of it).

A pool consumes about 2-4ppm of FC daily, so yes its like a pet, you need to feed it daily!

I just checked the website and they do have a bunch of it in stock so that's a positive but the best part? 3.44 a gallon! That is cheap! I just paid 40 for 4 gallons of 10% at Leslie's Pool Supply yesterday!

Well, another learning curve! SWG and a Stenner pump! But I'm totally open and willing to make this pool as efficient as possible.

Okay, I just checked my chlorine again after adding 3.5 gallons over a 2 hour period and it is at 6.5! Woot! I will have my son add 1.5 gallons per day through Tuesday when I get back from being out of town. Thanks again for all your help and great information. I feel quite a bit better getting that FC up to a level that will keep the bad stuff at bay! Now onward to closing in a few weeks!

One more question. Would 5ppm be the regular daily maintenance amount? That would really add up in cost if it is! 1.5-1.75 gallons a day x avg season of 104 days (June through second week of September here in MI) would be 156 gallons per season. At approx $8-10 per gallon = $1248.00??!! I must be misunderstanding this.
2-4 ppm FC use per day is typical.
Liquid chlorine should not be that expensive. $4-$5 per gallon is reasonable. Menards in your region carries reasonably priced chlorine.
