Skimmer sock in pump basket

Still waiting for my sand filter to get here (dang Covid), and wondered if you put a skimmer sock on the pump basket? My new pump has a pump basket, and I was just curious.

Just my opinion, a skimmer sock in the skimmer basket just has flow against it so it'll filter as the water casually passes but in the pump basket I would not chance it. That has pressure and wouldn't stand the chance of staying put.

Nope. Anything that would get stopped by it should have been stopped in the skimmer.

I tried that. My reason was to catch any debris that got into and past the skimmer while I was installing the skimmer cover for the vac. It tore a hole in the skimmer sock.

I tried it too and the same results, hole in the sock. I do use one in my skimmer to catch dog hair and it works great.
