Semi inground pool, one straight wall leaning outward

Water is off maybe 2-3 inches. We just put the dirt in. Wall looked ok before we put in dirt.

the water level is higher on the side opposite of the leaning buttress.

My liner wasnt wrinkled like that.

Wall pressure is wall pressure. Whether its from unleveled ground, a liner or a pickup truck backing into it. I was just showing what buckling may look like. Hoping you don't get it of course.

Those legs don’t look level, and it sounds like you weren’t on a firmly tamped surface, allowing your support under the legs to sink.. I hear you about your husband not wanting to drain, but I would do so, and fix those issues. Better to do the extra work than to have the pool fail and someone get hurt.

No matter what I would dig before draining.
You don't want the dirt pushing in on that wall without water in the pool.

Dig first.
