The water level is high, im not sure if this is expected or normal? I’ve attached two videos of the pool side and the actual filter pump

Not normal, is the water level in the pool high enough that the skimmers are running dry? Are the skimmer weir doors stuck closed? The water level is high, im not sure if this is expected or normal? I’ve attached two videos of the pool side and the actual filter pump

First thing to check is always the pump-lid O ring. It needs to be lubed. Would like to see more of the plumbing in front of the pump. The water level is high, im not sure if this is expected or normal? I’ve attached two videos of the pool side and the actual filter pump

Hey @1poolman1 i bought a new o ring and also replaced the basket inside the pump and also replaced the skimmer. I filled the pump basket with water, closed it and turned on the pump, allowing it to prime, water reached the top , but then slowly started decreasing inside the pump, and the level just kept going down. Ill send a video of it tomorrowFirst thing to check is always the pump-lid O ring. It needs to be lubed. Would like to see more of the plumbing in front of the pump.
Have you checked that the skimmers have water in them when the pump is running?Hey @1poolman1 i bought a new o ring and also replaced the basket inside the pump and also replaced the skimmer. You did not tighten the pump lid very much. It’s a two handed operation and will let air in if it’s not tight enough. But also you will get air bubbles like that when the pump restarts after being off. It just take some time for the air to get purged.@1poolman1 @Bperry , here is a video of the entire process im doing, i tried to show as much as i could and angles of the setup.
Hey @1poolman1 and also replaced the skimmer.
Any of the plumbing in front of the pump can be the source of that air. Have you checked the 2 O rings on the union at the pump inlet? One at the actual inlet port, one under the union nut? Is the union tight? Is the union tight into the pump?@1poolman1 @Bperry , here is a video of the entire process im doing, i tried to show as much as i could and angles of the setup.
Skimmer basket sorryI think there may be a terminology problem. A skimmer is encased in concrete next to the pool edge it’s super expensive and hard work to replace one. What is it that you actually replaced?
Hey @1poolman1 i havent checked those pipes or o-rings, since i bought the house 2 years ago. One question as im about to inspect, do those pieces come off? Like i thought the unions would be glued on, how can i inspect the orings on those pipe pieces?Any of the plumbing in front of the pump can be the source of that air. The valve before the pump may also need new O rings, two on the stem and one at the lid. Doesn't matter which brand of valve that is, all the O rings for those type valves are the same.
Did you check the skimmer weir door is working?Skimmer basket sorry
What is the skimmer weir door, i dont think i have oneDid you check the skimmer weir door is working?
Open the top of the skimmer lid and there’s a big flappy door that lets water in or can restrict it if it’s stuck closed. Just check that there’s enough water actually getting into the skimmer when the pump is actually running. I had a similar problem and that was the cause. What is the skimmer weir door, i dont think i have one
