Hello.....I am a new member. We recently purchases a house with a small pool and Pentair system. It has Easytouch control system with an ScreenLogic2 interface. I had no information from the previous owner who is not easy to get a hold of. I installed the app on my Iphone and had some basic information available, but unable to control anything. I went to Pentair for instructions on how to install software on my PC. I followed the instructions - I updated the firmware and installed the screen logic program. The applications appear to connect - it sees the IP address of the protocol adaptor, but I have no data on my iPhone and the PC never gets past "connecting to PC Controller Please Wait".

I have reset everything, but still have the same issue. I am sure it is something simple.ScreenLogic.JPG

You need to be sure the antenna at the equipment is powered. Have to remove the screws at the bottom of the antenna case, remove the cover and lift the board to see the power LED. All 4 of the wires need to be connected at the antenna and inside the outdoor panel.

Thank you. I did have connectivity before the firmware upgrade.

Attaching a picture of the outdoor antenna.

Have you gone into Configure Screenlogic? Has a Remote Access password been set up? You have the System Name?

I am concerned that one of the comm chips is blown in the Protocol Adapter. I obtained a used PA several years ago and had to have the Comm chips replaced. Luckily the person I was getting the PA from was in the electrical repair field and it was done and every thing works great.

An idea. If you can take the PA out to the EasyTouch, direct wire to the J20 on the panel, and then use a RJ45 to direct to a laptop, and see if it shows up. That will remove the wireless connection.

I will give that a try. Do you think recycling the panel would be worth a try?

Wayne,

You can't take the Protocol Adapter (PA) out of the equation.

I think Marty meant that you can take the two wireless transceivers out of the circuit, by running a 4 wire cable from the J20 com port in the EasyTouch right into the 4 wire connection of the PA..

The PA is what translates "Pentair" into "Ethernet"..

ScreenLogic either works right off the bat or it is a pain in the rear. :(

I suggest that you try moving devices further away from your internet router and see if that helps at all.

Seems like ScreenLogic needs to be connected to your home network either right out of the router or at the first switch.

ScreenLogic needs to be set up as Admin..

I would like to help, but I am pretty much "Internet" stupid... Mine has just always worked and I have no direct experience troubleshooting it.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you Jim. I guess maybe the firmware upgrade could have caused some issues. I will not be able to do this until tomorrow morning. Sounds pretty strait forward.

Thanks to both of you. This forum is incredible.
