Has anyone had any issues using the Robelle brand cya ? I have used there product before and seems to work great in the past . Just received some today and for the life of me this stuff isn’t dissolving.

Are you using a thicker sock or shirt than previous times? My first time with CYA I used an old undershirt, and it was slow! When I did the second batch I switched to a tightly woven mesh laundry bag and it dissolved so much better.

Using a skimmer sock . Same ones I always used. Came out this morning and still not fully dissolved

I use a skimmer sock. I have a red solo cup with the bottom cut out to load the skimmer sock. Load it up, tie the end, throw it away after the CYA dissolves. A lifetime supply of skimmer socks is less than ten bucks.

I had much the same issue the last time I used Robelle - just didn't seem to want to dissolve in the sock. Eventually I just hung it right in the outwash from the return and ignored it for 3 days and came back and it was all gone.

Last two times I've used the Clorox CYA (I know...Clorox...) and its dissolved without issue.

I've only ever used Clorox CYA - the 4 lb. bags can be bought from Amazon for a good price (especially in the winter time). I tie off the ankles on a pair of long johns and hang in front of a return. Dissolves without intervention within 24 hours.

Given your location, cold water temps not possibly an issue 😀. Would seem that you’ll just have to be patient, squeeze the skimmer sock a couple times a day, and wait for it to all dissolve. I’ve also had batches that were a little slower to dissolve at times but never more than a couple of days. Stupid question but did you notice anything different about this batch like larger granules or clumped or anything like that?

I had different results with bags from the same pallet. When I filled pool #2 I was stuck buying smaller HD bags because June and everyone was out of stock. One or two bags bricked up and took days to squeeze out and the others were mush in minutes.

I chalked it up to moisture getting in the difficult bags. They seemed sealed but maybe it wad condensation inside. 🤷‍♂️

Same here with the 4lb. Clorox bags. Some dissolve very quickly, others not so much. Still better
than paying way more for the liquid that separates into heavy sludge at the bottom and refuses
to leave the bottle!

Larger flakes . I have used this product before and never had this issue

I think larger flakes would do it. Less surface area per unit of the product. I can’t think of a practical solution to the issue. Like you could mill it to powder but it doesn’t seem worth the effort.
