Rigging a boost pump

I have a Polaris 360 aka wheely guy I got from a wonderful user here on TFP. I'm unable to use it until I get my new 1 hp pump set up, but I was wondering -- is there any way to rig up my old 0.5 hp pump through a second return for the Polaris? I mean using the old pump as a booster pump for the exclusive use of the Polaris.

Otherwise I'll likely put in a second return with a valve so I won't have to be constantly unplugging the wheely guy from the single return.

As long as you have a separate suction for the second pump, it should work. Sounds like a project!
