Hi, I'm new to pool maintenance and still learning. I have a Rheem heater that worked last season, but this year I see "PRS" on the console. I believe this means I need to clean the filter, which I've done as shown in the picture. I noticed there's a valve attached to the heater that's currently turned off. Since I'm inexperienced, I'm unsure if I should turn this valve on or if it serves a specific purpose. Could someone explain what this valve does and whether it should be turned on? Thanks!

Have you cleaned the filter, strainer basket and pump basket? What type of filter? In my pool when I lived in AZ I had to regularly remove pine needles that would get caught in the pump impeller.
yes I cleaned all of them. Surprisingly, the heater started working after running for awhile.
