The orange/peach pipe is the solar return aka Back From the Future. The Delorean is parked around the corner.
And when using solar you run the pump at 88 rpm'sThe orange/peach pipe is the solar return aka Back From the Future. The Delorean is parked around the corner.
shhhhhhhhhhhhh justthe pool was no longer leaking,
Well done!!!New shallow end railing to help hubby
Win-win for sure!!!!He'll check for leaks before they start. Sounds like a win-win to me: protects them by identifying preexisting problems and could expose anything we didn't find.
NICE! Did they know YOU did the work??? You should be SO proud!!!!Did get a series of compliments from him on the pool pad.![]()
Yes, he did know. Sure felt good.NICE! Did they know YOU did the work??? You should be SO proud!!!!
Thank you. Part of the reason I've posted so much is to document what can be done DIY, even by a coot of my age. If Diane can do it with the support of all the grand folks here at TFP, YOU can do it.I am just at a loss for words other than this is absolutely amazing. I am in speechless awe of your work.
If you read this whole thing in a day, I'm not the only one with perseverance.I spent today reading this whole thread and ... I totally was in love with your perseverance.
Probably not going to be too much posting until October ... unless I do some work on the solar.I can't wait to see how your saga ends![]()
I will pay attention for October lolIf you read this whole thing in a day, I'm not the only one with perseverance. Thanks for the thoughts.
Probably not going to be too much posting until October ... unless I do some work on the solar.
Awwwe commm'on Diane!?.. you gotta throw us a nugget every now and then!Probably not going to be too much posting until October ... unless I do some work on the solar.
I didn't say none, just not too many. Ya want this to be a 1000 post thread?Awwwe commm'on Diane!?.. you gotta throw us a nugget every now and then!
And of course show us you swimming during season enjoying all that work!! That is the ultimate joyJust show us how it looks from time to time! Let us know how things are going as you learn how to care for your pool over time.
Thanks for reading lol it's at a snail pace now lol you can see my thread too when I bought the house & how the sellers destroyed the pool which brought us to the reno a year later@kimkats: Really, only thing that's new for us is the SWG. Remember that this is a 40+ year old pool that we put in. We've always been DIY ... and what we were doing wasn't much different than TFP methods. Right now I'm trying to find the sweet spot of SWG level vs pump time.
@clambert1273: Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. Shouldn't be too long; water temp was 80 yesterday, but storm last night brought lower temps for a couple of days. BTW: I'm readying your current thread - familiar, so know I'd read most of it before.
That process will that two seasons.. really. It did for me because I was looking at the subtle increase in % as one progresses through the season to its peak in July and then back down to fall when you close or soft-close your pool. Then your readjust.. make some notes that you hope will be intelligible to you in 6 months and start the process over again. When all was said and done I had a run time that I could adjust my cell's output for all the seasons.. 20% in the early spring to 80% in the peak of summer then back down in the fall. And I still had some wiggle room if I needed to go full blast, or I would just bump it with liquid CL... enjoy the process.Right now I'm trying to find the sweet spot of SWG level vs pump time.
Have kept an XL log of all measurements taken, chems added & settings since the swamp-to-pool SLAM. That shouldn't be a surprise, right?make some notes that you hope will be intelligible to you in 6 months and start the process over again.
