Re circulation problem

When I turn my multiport valve to recirculate it starts coming out of the backwash hose?

Sky,

If this is a new filter, it could be you have the wrong multiport valve..

If this is an old unit, and you have had the multiport valve apart, you could have put it together wrong or you could have a broken spider gasket..

this isn't a new filter so the multipart valve should be the correct one. I just checked the gasket and it has no rips or tears

Well, let's hope someone else has a better answer, because those are the only two things that I can think of that would cause the issue...

Could you have had it in "Waste" instead of "Recirculate"???

Am i supposed to be doing anything before putting it on recirculate? all I'm doing is turning off pump changing the setting and turning it back on

Nope, that is all you should need to do. I am assuming the water continues to flow out the backwash port, not just a small initial dribble...

In recirculate, the water should bypass the filter and go back to the pool...

See if you can find a part number on the multiport valve somewhere...

Have you ever used it on recirculate before???
