Pump timer with OFF setting only?

We are replacing our pool automation system and are thinking to using a simple timer for the pump this time. Does anyone know if there is a timer (panel mounted, outdoors) that can be used for turning the pump OFF at a certain time without using any ON settings at all? We always turn the pump ON manually and don't want the pump to turn on automatically with the timer. The timers we have looked at so far all seem to require a pair of ON/OFF settings which is not what we are looking for. The trick of using an ON time a few minutes before the OFF time is also not desirable. We always want to check the pool before turning the pool on the morning so we don't like the idea of the pool turning on automatically. At night it would be good to have an automatic OFF (with a timer) at a set time to make sure we don't forget to turn it off. Some days we don't turn the pool on at all so having an automatic ON shortly before the OFF is also not a good fit for us. Any ideas what we should look for? Thanks!

Just leave the ON cog off the timer and use the ON/OFF switch in the timer to turn the pump on. The OFF cog will shut the pump off at the set time.

The wifi pool timer I installed recently has a button you can push to manually toggle the state (so from OFF to ON), and then you can setup a schedule within the app to turn it OFF, regardless of current state.

Would really depend on whether the timer is compatible with your pump - seems to work just fine with mine.

Great ideas. Any links or brand/models you can share? Our pump is wired for 240V so a timer that handles 240V and a 1.5 HP pump load is all we need. Our alternative is to add a manual switch on the panel for the pump. Having a timer with an automatic off would be nice though. Thus, a link to a product would be very helpful! Thanks again!!

I used the following :

Was a fairly easy setup for 240, supports 240, 110 etc.

There were a number of similar switches which looked like rebrands of the same thing :)

Thank you! Looks great! Will have to check my wifi signal level at that location if I go with this one as it seems to not have any buttons for manual operation in case wifi is weak at times. Thanks! If anyone knows of a non-wifi model that fits the bill, please share that here also. Thank you all!

It has a button in the middle that basically toggles the state - if you look at the round part, its a round button in the middle of that. If it's off, and you push it, turns the pump on, if it's on, pushing it turns it off. Long hold resets the wifi pairing, and you set it up via the app on your phone to connect to your 2.4ghz WiFI and then you can program on/off/schedules etc.

If you are going to regularly turn it on manually and want to be there to check the equipment, an Intermatic T-104R is your safest, most reliable way to go. They are "bullet-proof," and seem to last forever. Easy to set the time, just pull the dial out a bit and adjust. Put on the "off" tripper and you are good to go. If you get tired of manually doing the job, just add the "on" tripper. If you lose the trippers you can easily get them. The 104 is for 240v, the R designation is for an outdoor enclosure. You do not want to use the less expensive T-104 if the box is outdoors. Home Depot.

Perfect! Did not see that button!

Bingo! This is what we have been looking for. Thank you!
