Pre pool opening (white water mold)

We’ve just had a bunch of rain and more coming. I was able to check fc before the rain and had 5.5.
Closed cover during rain.

I think I’d like to add Lc to get to 7. Can I put that in the skimmer without opening the cover or no? Just wait til morning?

Still going with cya 50

So sometime my pool pump randomly shut off.
When the power goes out here I have to go to the “box” and turn the pump back on. The power didn’t go out but had to go to box to start it up.

It started fine but the schedule seems to be out of whack.

It usually runs
8 am-6 pm at 3000 rpm
6pm- 4 am at 2200
4am-8am 1850

Since it looks like I’ll have to (figure out how to) reset the schedule, would you recommend the same set up as before or something different ?

As always thanks

What model number is your pump?
Also, do you have automation (a box on the wall) or just the control on the pump?

As for run times-
Most with vsp’s run on lower rpm’s (1400-1800) around the clock with maybe a few hours at higher rpms to clear more debris.
How low you can run will depend on what you need to satisfy (heater, effective skimming, salt cell etc)

We have a box mounted separately. It says intelliconnect. (Although we’ve never been able to actually connect to the wifi)

the pump says pentair superflow variable speed . We do have a heater. I think water flows through it all the time even if not “heating”.

What are the problems?

Intelliconnect needs firmware version 1.6.1.5 or greater to work with Superflo VST or Whisperflo VST pumps. Pentair Support can push a firmware update to IntelliConnect systems connected to the internet.

I would like at some point to connect to the internet but the main questions now are

Why would it have randomly shut off ?

Why this time when it shut off, was the schedule skewed? (I have to turn it on at the box, like if power goes out etc, but power hadn’t gone out yesterday)

And since I’m reprogramming the schedule what do you recommend ?
Since installed schedule was (set by installers)
8 am-6 pm 3000 rpm
6pm-4 am 2200 rpm
4am- 8am 1850

For the intelliconnect
We didn’t have wifi when pool was first installed. Last year we did get wifi and I couldn’t make it connect unless that box was in a mode other than “service”. Box would connect but not while pump was running (in service mode)
Pool company came out said we needed a wifi extender, he tried that and still couldn’t make it work. I was frustrated and just said forget it. Made me think it was perhaps wired incorrectly or something.

I really wanted it connected in the instance we are away from home and the power went out, I thought I could turn the pump back on from the app. Pool guy says you can’t do that anyway have to turn in at the intelliconnect box, that really all I can do from the app is manage the lights. I’ve never been able to connect so idk if that’s all true or not

That is correct. The SERVICE mode freezes all online remote controls and will not let WiFi work.

The IntelliConnect should only be in SERVICE when you are by the equipment doing mainatnce.

SERVICE is not a normal mode.

Yeah, its something.

You should be running the IntelliConnect in AUTO mode.

So let's talk about how things work when in AUTO.

Why is the IntelliConnect in SERVICE mode?

It does not sound like anything was setup in the IntelliConnect programming or schedules.

The system is setup and controlled through WiFi and the Pentair HOME APP.

What is the situation with the Wi-Fi connection?

Is it running in service mode a problem, Mechanically? Or just with the wifi part?

I have wifi and a strong signal .
I’ve been trying to recall and it seems like I could get auto mode to stay on with the relay that says lts (lights) but as soon as I press the pump relay it goes to service mode

I powered down the intellicenter
Powered back on
Link is flashing
Auto mode

From the app when I try to connect it says it’s still in service mode

This also happened before
