Pool Losing water in "extreme" heat

HI All,

I have a 30k in ground gunite pool with raised spa. Latley we have been losing water during a string of 95* + days.

Also, we ran our spa for a few hours one night.

1)does hot weather cause the pool to lose water (evaporation)?
2) does the spa running (propane heater) cause water drop?

I'd say we lost 3-4" off the skim line

any insight is helpful
