Pool liner replacement for Intex 15' tubular metal frame pool

I think I need to get a replacement liner for my pool. The one it came with has several leaks and looks like it might develop more soon. The sidewalls near the bottom are almost cracked it looks like. What are my options for getting a replacement? It looks like the only difference is the more expensive one has clips to hold the liner in place. I guess my question is, what should I do? I could probably buy the cheaper one and get clamps like this: https://www.amazon.com/White-Snap-Clamp-Inch-Inches/dp/B00C7DPS2S/. Are there any "gotchas" I need to worry about? I know I'll have to cut holes for the inlets and outlets. What should I do about my drain plug? Does anyone have any experience with replacement liners for this type of pool?

What do I do about the drain plug though? Leave it in place? Cut it out?

I would not touch the drain plug. A subm pump will take care of any draining you need to do in the future.

It won't tear the new liner around the drain plug? I mean, 32,000 lbs of water pushing down on that thin liner and the drain plug does not sit flush with the inside of the existing liner.

Oh my I thought it was on the outside. Yeah that does change it. I would remove and patch the hole on both sides.

Just the regular patch material or something heavier? I have a boat load of the patch glue. Not so much of the liner, though I could ask a pool supply store for some of the heavy duty stuff.

For your pool I would TRY to find a thicker patch but if you can't get your hands on any just to the 2 patch method:

-round all corners
-make TWO patches-one bigger than the other. The smaller one goes on first then the larger one.

What about using something heavier like a tarp cut in the shape of a patch for strength? It doesn't really need to be waterproof since the new liner will take care of that, though I suppose I could patch with vinyl over that.

That is an idea. I WOULD put a piece of what ever you end up using on both sides.
