I have a Polaris P955 that powers up OK, but as soon as I press the start button, it turns off. Any ideas or must I take it to Leslies for diagnostics?

If that is the tubular screw-in plug the plug itself is the culprit. Mine does it as well. The solution is to clean out the contacts with a pipe cleaner or thin wire or something that can rough up the copper contacts. You can also unscrew the plug end and clean those contacts that way. Once it is cleaned and working, use dielectric grease on the parts to hopefully keep it free of corrosion for awhile. I have to clean mine annually and even still sometimes it fails. I jiggle around the plug and get it back working again.
