Interesting. There is no spec for pressure rating. One review stated they used it at 20psi and it was holding.
All other aspects seem good but my concern lies with the pressure rating. Although I cannot determine what the pressure rating is for the Polaris OEM hose.
If I were going to invest more than $100 bux in replacement anything for a Polaris.. I think I would think hard about putting that money into an inexpensive robot. The one everyone likes on the forum is in the $600 dollar range. At almost 120 bux for an official Polaris hose you're 1/5th of they way to the cost of a robot.
Yeah I guess the Polaris is the devil I know... It's been quite reliable. When it does have a hiccup, it's very easy to fix.
I've been thinking about the silicone because the stock Polaris hose - fine in the summer - didn't work as water temp declined over our first winter here in NC. It was flaky in the 60's, semi-effective in the 50's, and nearly worthless in the 40s. At the low of 39, watching the thing struggle actually made me feel bad. Had to do a lot of manual sweeping in the worst weather of the year ... though having come from Boston, that was not very bad at all
