Plumbed in Salt chlorine generator, but noticed filter says fresh water only

New to pools, purchased a home with a 20x40 in ground pool last November.

I plumbed in a new salt chlorine generator a month back, and today while opening the pool I noticed the label on the Sta-Rite filter says fresh water only. It's a Sta-Rite System 3 model S7D75 filter.

Why can't this be used for saltwater? What do I need to do to use the salt chlorine generator I have plumbed in? Hoping for some help here because I can't find much info online about this filter.

I have no idea, and does not make a lot of sense,, Anything touching water should be stainless steel, so it should not matter.

I would be willing to bet that means not to be used with saline water, which is defined as 30,000 ppm and higher. SWG water is only slightly more saline than typical pool water, I doubt there will be any issues.

Good point. I did know slat pool water was much lower in salinity, but didn't think about it possibly referring to marine levels of salinity.
