1st time pool owner. In ground. About 11000 gals. Pentair Rebel came with house/pool. Think it was about 3 years old when I got it 1 1/2 years ago. Have had to have it repaired 4 times since I got it. One repair was a complete rebuild. Is this normal? Are there better cleaners out there?

My opinion is a suction cleaner like the Rebel is the least effective pool cleaner. I would not put money into one.
Look at robot pool cleaners like the Maytronics Dolphin.

Agree. Ditch it and don't look back. I mistakenly installed a pressure side cleaner on my new pool 7 years ago. After 4 years I'd had enough. Went with a Dolphin Active 20 (S200/Pentair Warrior SE/etc.) twin.
