Outlet Automation

Hi. I have searched, but no success. How do I wire and outlet for automation in my intellicenter ? I want to control items plugged into the outlet circuit breaker via the intellicenter. Perhaps in Aux 3. Thanks.

D,

Most Automation outlets are GFCI and often used to run the pool lights off the back side of the GFCI.

The outlet has to get 120 VAC from somewhere in the load center. If you want to be able to control the outlet, you just have to run the power that is going to the outlet through an Aux relay.

If I planed on trying to control something using an outlet with my automation, I would install a seperate controlled outlet so that the one mounted to the side of the main panel is still available.

What is it that you want to control?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey Jim. I have an outlet next to my pergola. I installed some string lights that are plugged into the outlet. the outlet is dedicated to one breaker. The outlet breaker is in my intellicenter box. Gfci.

how do I set it to run through aux3? I tried the attached. It does not work? What am I missing?

D,

I see nothing wrong with your diagram..

I assume it works when the breaker and load do not go through the relay.. Yes???

If so, then the problem is that the relay is not closing.

I see you have an 5P IntelliCenter.. Normally this means you have 5 relays.. The first one is the pump/filter relay then Aux 1, 2, 3, 4 and the next is 5

What Aux relay are you using?? Your diagram shows Aux 8, but you don't have access to 6, 7 and 8..

How are you trying to turn on the Aux relay? Button, App or ??

Thanks,

Jim R.
