Not returning water to pool

So i started my pool up today after installing a new spider gasket in the valve. I primed them pump like always and had the valve set to filter. Started it up and it was pulling water from the skimmers but not sending it back out to the returns. And needless to say my filter just filled with water and over flowed. Any suggestions on what i need to look for?

30,

I assume you have a sand filter...

I don't know much about sand filters, but I'd say you put the MPV together backwards...

Maybe one of our members with a sand filter can chime in..

Let's see if @1poolman1 has any inputs..

Thanks,

Jim R.

I might have but it has a notch on the valve to line the 2 pieces back up. I placed it there and put it back together. Not sure what i did wrong. And yes it is a sand filter

Please send us a photo. Either you put the gasket in incorrectly, didn't close it properly, or you loosened your MPV from the top of your filter body and its leaking there when pressurized.

Or a dozen other things. But a photo will help us help you.

Here is the leak. I put the valve into recirculating mode and it ran fine. Put it back to filter and this is what is happening.
My knee-jerk guess is the filter circuit is deadheaded. The water appears to be coming from the seam at the fiberglass body. Unless you removed that also, this makes the most sense.
