No chlorine and free chlorine at zero

"Pool Professional" is kinda funny. Pool store tests are often more wrong than right. Having your own quality test kit puts you in control of your pool. No one wants to do a better job of testing than you. Pool stores often just test to sell a product or three.....

everything perfect but zero chlorine what causes this.
To take a stab at your original question, you probably have algae in your pool that you can't see. Left alone, this algae will bloom and turn your pool green.

Everything posted above is true. Pool Stores are horrible and we encourage you to stay out of them.

Please read "The "ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry" up in Pool School and please consider doing your own testing and learning the methods we teach.

What algaecide do you recommend

TFPC does not recommend algaecide. And algaecide does nothing to eliminate algae. It can prevent it, but many times with unwanted side effects.

To defeat algae, we use SLAM Process. You need a proper test kit to follow the process.

@Candler98 , follow the SLAM link posted above. The methods we use don't work well with pool store advise. Essentially you will need to acquire your own test kit and do your own testing. Once you have one of the recommended test kits, the experts in the community can help you get your water perfect and chemical expenses way down.
