I have a quick question. I am putting a new steel wall vinyl liner inground pool in my backyard and I am trying to map out the pipes and conduits and have a question about pool junction boxes..... I understand that I need to have one because the pool has 1 light, but my question is about the location........ reading some of the threads here I understand that there is a minimums that I need respect.. (4" from waterline and 4' from pool wall...) my question is whether is a maximum distance????? I was thinking on putting the equipment on the side of the house (see picture attached), and wondered If I could just run a conduit from the light location all the way from the light location to the side of the house and run a continuous cable from the light to the side of the house and put the junction box a the electrical connection there.........

NEC limits you to four 90 degree turns for the light conduit. A long run with multiple 90s can make the pull of the light wire difficult when the light needs to be replaced. So typically the light junction box should be placed near the pool with a short run and as few turns as possible. When you need to replace the light and pull the new light cable in a few years you will appreciate that.

Lights come with the cords attached, so you cannot go farther than the cord that comes with the light, which is usually 100' maximum.

What make and model of light?
I am not sure of the brand as it came with the kit, but I did just see that the paperwork says 50'........ the good things is that there should already be power around that area as there used to be hot tub there :) .
thank you for the info

Mine went next to the pool sub panel, for the sole sake of having the junction. Kinda silly but codes are codes.
