I know this lady with cats.... he apologized and said he was cleaning it up. I’m trying not to be that guy ... I’m a bit OCD about contractors so I’m waiting to lose it over something monumental. I’m trying the patience route.

My electrician told me today I have to call for final inspection. Is that normal? He said it’s cheaper than paying him to be waiting for inspection. He is actually working on the pool builders permit, so I suspect that the pool builder will actually have to call and have to be there for the inspection.

Thanks Kim. My patience expired the minute I signed the contract. The PB owns the permit. The electrician will piggyback on that permit. That may be my ticket to not having to call for the inspection, which is not the end of the world if I do.

Well- Here is a little progress! One of five trees are down.

I should be swimming soon [emoji4]

My neighbor is/was a tree person. He volunteered to take down my 5 trees and not charge me. He did not want to get paid. He said he just wanted to be neighborly. Said I get the fun job of hauling it to the Recycle yard. I love helping people, but that just blew me away!
I need to figure out a thoughtful thank you gift that doesn’t involve just cash. I told his wife she had can come swim anytime, but they have a pool. She was more interested in me helping move things with my pick up truck !

There are good people left , after all!!

That’s an amazing gesture! Not sure how you can thank him. Do you have any skills he might be in need of?

I got it! A gift bouquet of "gift cards". Dinner card to their favorite restaurant, gas card to local station (to help pay for the saw gas), card to Lowes or where ever he buys his saw stuff (chains and such), "truck" card x ?? for the use of your truck a set number of times. THEN when the pool is done invite them over for a pool warming party and cook out!

Throw in a picnic at an outdoor park and you have a win! Day out to wear out the kids, Parents get home to self. Kids come home tired and fed! Throw them in the pool then bed!

Here are a few drawings from the PB. Some of the details like having brick walls where the back porch is and the height of retaining wall being too tall are things to overlook. The basic concept is an upper an lower patio, retaining wall and pool. The spa will go where some of the patio furniture is.
Not sure about protocol on PB names, so I blacked it out to protect the names of the innocent.

Now comes the really fun part! Get us the details-how many returns? Skimmers? Main drain yes or no (you do not have to have one)? How deep?

8ft deep - no diving board
3ft deep shallow- difficult to change and we have young kids.
No main drain.

See if he will give you a credit for the glass media for the filter. Sand is cheaper and works better. In fact most people end up with sand after the glass gets gunked up

How many gallons is the SWG rated for? We say to go double your pool size. This will save you money on your power bills because you will not have to run the pump as long to make as much chlorine. It will also make the cell last longer.

The SWCG unit is rated for 25k gallons. I have not calculated the capacity of the pool. I will check on the credit for the sand. How much is that stuff normally?
