'New' Pool Owner

Hey everyone, I'm just looking for some advice. I recently bought a USED ABG pool. 18 feet by 4 feet deep. I've already ordered 30 gauge liner. Pool wise I think I'm good to go. Im looking for some info on electrical and chemicals. We are currently working on digging the ground and was wondering what gauge wire would I need for a 1hp Hayward pump, it will only be about... 30 ft from the house, we found a wire underground while digging, but I believe its 12-2 and its not hooked to anything. Chemical wise, do most people use chlorine, baquacil, or any other chemicals?
