Actually, I misunderstood. It isn't making the pool shallower but bringing the edge/sides up, so that the coping doesn't rest below the surface. Hoping it can get done this week.

now that you mention it, it does look like the sides of your pool are almost even with ground. mine were at least a few inches above the grade of lawn . our PB explained they needed to make sure the pool was the highest part of lawn so all rain would travel away from it

That's exactly it. The north part of the yard is perhaps 20 inches above the main part. (A mountain for Miami standards)

Definitely wouldn't want rain water to be trapped.

Yeah, gosh, everyone is backed up, the rain then throws them back, just need to fit them in, but other people are waiting, blah blah. Yikes.

Me too, and everyone in my family is interested to hear updates on his pool!

It's funny -- very similar design and timeline. Plus, if we have a bad rain event here I know he is dealing with it too. Definitely cracking open a beer on the day his pool is filled with water.

i know its good to do but man the humidity right now is about 9000% the concrete will probably sweat by itself lol

I'm going to water it this afternoon. The guys didn't say it was a huge priority but they said to do so if I have the chance. And working from home these months gives me the time to just go out there and wet it.

Watering is recommended to prevent differential cracking.
