New pool in Jersey...they're here!

Just my (sprayed on) potential concrete shape.

Love it! The one thing I would like about curving out more is where it dips in. If you are going to have grass there it might be a pain to mow. I would do a gentle curve out instead. Give you a little more walking room there and easier mowing.

Thanks, Kim! I am going to ask the Mason to help us tweak it but I think we are close to perfect. Yes, that little pointy dip inwards might get more gentle. I was just trying to meet up at my premeasured flags lol. We are putting an aluminum fence around the pool. My husband doesn't like the look of those child lock fences and with 4 boys from 1 to 10 we need a fence. Unfortunately it will detract from the shape but that's why I'm insisting on the deck being curved. I am putting mulch and/or some type of rock in spaces between fence and concrete and just on the other side of fence for ease of mowing.

4 boys??????? well 5 if you count hubby LOL  That is going to have to be some kind of fence to keep them out!!! I have some ideas..................one of those "drive way" alarms all the way around the pool. If someone walks through the beam a LOUD alarm sounds in the house!

Actually I have 5 boys (3 mine, 2 nephews) but the oldest nephew is 18, plus my hubby makes 6! I never even heard of the driveway alarms before. Wont work for keeping them out of pool but it's a great idea to put along my exterior chain link fence. It will be pretty close to where the new fence is (if not right next to it ). I am now concerned with someone climbing the chain link to hop over the taller aluminum fence. Most likely wont happen buuuut...the 18 year old has done a few pretty stupid things so he might tell his friends to do it late one night??‍♀️. Imagine the surprise and fear when a spotlight and alarm go off!!!???

Was told they would be here Monday or Tuesday to install liner. Called Saturday at 230 to check, they're machine came on (they close at 3). Not unusual because it usually is when I call. Called yesterday and he said they would be here today. It's now 2pm and they're not here yet. So I'll call again and I'm sure it'll be some reason why they won't be here until tomorrow. Gonna rain starting tomorrow afternoon for 5 of the next 6 days. Ughhhh.

Just like I thought. He said it was too hot to put a liner in today. That it would melt. They will try to be here in the morning before the rain starts! Try!?!? How about we will! And why weren't you aware of the weather enough to know that you should've been here first thing yesterday or today...before it got too hot?! ?

Melt??? He really said that????????? Unreal

Driveway alarm-my thinking is it would tell you if anyone goes into the pool yard. It will not stop them but it will let you know they/someone/something is at or inside the fence depending on where you put it.

5??? boys!!! You poor Momma!! Your food bill alone would break most households! Never a dull moment I am sure at your house!

They weren't here first thing this morning so I went to the office soon after they opened. He said that he cant give me an estimated date of finish (I didnt really expect him to just wanted to see if he would). I told him I was really trying to be patient and understanding of the weather but it's been 8 weeks and sometimes I see them and sometimes I dont. He said that the liner will be installed this afternoon and we can swin after that even though the twshp says we're not supposed to. I asked about the electrician and the mason( coming today) and he said that depends on their availability but we'll be swimming this weekend ( in the rain if course). He said he's sorry it's taking this long but he can't apologize for the weather and it has them playing catch up everywhere (20 plus days of rain each in April and May or something like that). And that he has over 200k out in peoples backyards because of unfinished jobs.

Yeah, that sucks for you and all but how about you do one or two pools at a time and get them finished, then move on to the next one. Seems like its smarter to do it that way than to start everything at the same time and not be able to finish any in a timely manner. I would've definitely preferred being told that they weren't going to dig until a later date but they would be done within this time frame. And how about you go in order of when the contract was signed (and of course when permits come back).
Done ranting. They better show up today.

They didn't show up this morning...again. I told my husband that I would go back to talk to them...again...of they weren't there by the time I got home from my doctor's appointment ( around 4). They showed up at 3!!!!! Liner is in! Liner is in!
Trying to upload pics but too large. Coming soon...

@KaiBee - how are things going for your project?
I have 2 hoses going since this morning. The kids are loving it so far. They were in at 830 this morning and are again now. They like that they can stand in the deep end.
The pb wants me to turn off the blower and the water once it reaches the middle of the light niches. They said they'll come back and cut out the skimmers, returns, and my sundeck light once it does. I don't think that's going to happen before they close, which means we cant finish filling until Monday. They are forever ruining it when something good happens. If they would've come out Monday Tuesday or Wednesday of this week we would've been fine. So annoying.
But to answer your question directly... slow. It's going frustratingly slow. ?

What kind of temps are you having up there? Water and air................if it is going to be hot you might want to put some liquid chlorine in with everyone in the pool to help mix it up!!

Kim:kim:
Tomorrow will be 84 with rain from 11 to 3. Sunday will be 88. Partly cloudy. Should I add anything? Should I clear it with pb or just go for it? I am all about not letting him allow my water to start off gross!
